**CQ WPX 2009**
251 QSO's
186 multipliers
Grand total: 118,854
Fantastic.
Many thanks to everybody who took part.
Bands worked: 80 meters, 20 meters and 15 meters. Roger worked Australia on 80 meters.
This in spite of zero sunspots and a Solar Flux between 69 and 71 (we also had no flares/magnetic storms which was a big plus).
ARRL contest Results
Submitted by va7ani on Sun, 03/08/2009 - 17:37Here is how we finished the ARRL DX contest:
229 QSOs
62 Multipliers
Grand score: 42594
The majority of the activity was on 20 meters with a few on 15 meters. The MUF hovered between 20 and 15 meters over the weekend permitting a few openings on 15 meters. Pretty good considering the solar cycle is so quiet (in our favor we didn't have to content with solar flares/magnetic storms to knock out the bands. The Yeasu FT101ZD and the FL2100 amp got a good workout.

Contests
Welcome to the world of HF/VHF contesting.
Contests are held throughout the year, and use a variety of modes and bands. Contests can vary in length, from a sprint (1/2 hour to an hour), a full weekend, or an entire month. Check a contest calendar such as http://www.hornucopia.com/contestcal/ for the dates, times, rules, and scoring. Some contests may be a single mode such as SSB Phone (Voice), or multi-mode such as SSB, Rtty, and CW. The club has HF gear for your use, don't be shy, come down and try it out.
